Ribcraft approached us to create a fast-paced 90-second highlight commercial for their 10.5M Pro Cabin Vessel, which had just been purchased by a UK fisheries patrol unit. They wanted to showcase the boat in its professional capacity while highlighting its most important features in a way that would resonate with their target market of police, fire and rescue, military, and other patrol units.

Conceptualisation & Creative Development

With Ribcraft's target audience being professional maritime units, we knew we needed to create something that felt authentic to that world while showcasing the vessel's capabilities. We took inspiration from military and emergency service content, focusing on the intensity and precision that these professionals bring to their work. The creative approach centered around showing the boat in action rather than static shots, demonstrating how Ribcraft's engineering translates into real-world performance. We wanted to capture the power and reliability that patrol units depend on, while highlighting the specific features that make this vessel stand out in professional maritime operations.

Shoot Planning & Storyboarding

The pre-production process involved detailed coordination with both Ribcraft and the fisheries patrol unit to ensure we could capture authentic operational scenarios. We planned key sequences that would showcase the boat's turning capabilities, speed, and the distinctive deep V-hull design that sets Ribcraft apart. Having a support vessel was crucial to our planning, allowing us to capture the dynamic follow shots that would really demonstrate the vessel's performance on the water. We structured the shoot day to capture both close-up detail shots of key features and wide establishing shots that showed the boat's impressive scale and presence, ensuring we had all the elements needed for a fast-paced, engaging final edit.
